Inaugural Post

This will be the first of many posts. I plan to post at least once a week in each of the four subject areas listed in my welcome message. Below is a sample of the type of content you will find at the Wold Wide Web.

Trout fishing in Wisconsin

I am planning to take a short trip up to the Wolf River to fish the extended trout season in the northern streams. I fished it on October 24 of last year, a beautiful 82 degree day. Something tells me I will not be so lucky this year. I will be using this blog as a chronicle of my attempt to fish as many Wisconsin trout streams as possible. I hope to write a book about the experience using the blog as my notebook.

Libertarian and conservative U.S. politics

I consider myself to be essentially a libertarian in the political spectrum. Thus, you will get a chance to agree or disagree with me on many issues as I try to contribute to some very important debates. Currently, health care reform is one of the hot topics, and I am worried about our current road to socialism. The speed with which the Obama administration is attempting to further involve government in every aspect of our lives is troubling at least, alarming at worst.

Graphic design, illustration, and animation

If you have a moment, take a look at my portfolio website at www.jaredwold.com. I am currently revising it. Also, I am currently selling stock vector illustration on iStock. My gallery of available vector illustrations can be found on the iStock website.

Movies, television, and pop culture

I am looking forward to the upcoming season of Chuck. If you haven't seen this show, I implore you to watch episodes on Hulu. I will be posting recaps of each episode of the upcoming season. So if you are a Chuck fan already, be ready to check out my take on the season as it unfolds.
